How to Cancel Disney+ (2026): Step-by-Step

Updated September 9, 2026 · 5 min read · By SubLess Team

Quick answer

Disney+ is cancelled wherever you pay for it. If Disney bills you directly, sign in at disneyplus.com/account, open Subscription, click Cancel subscription and confirm. If the Account page says you are billed through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku or another partner, the cancel button is missing on purpose: cancel in that store instead. Access continues until the end of the paid period, profiles and watchlists are kept, and there is no refund for the remaining days.

Step one: find out who bills you

Disney+ has more billing partners than almost any other service, which is exactly why "how do I cancel" has no single answer. Open disneyplus.com/account (in the app: your profile → Account) and look at the Subscription section. It says one of two things:

  • A plan name with a Cancel subscription link → Disney bills you. Use the next section.
  • "Billed through Apple / Google / Amazon / Roku / Hulu / [provider]" with no cancel link → that company bills you. Jump to partner billing.

Deleting the app, logging out or changing your password does nothing to the billing. The subscription lives with whoever takes the money.

Cancel Disney+ when Disney bills you

  1. Sign in at disneyplus.com on a browser with the account owner's email. Profiles cannot cancel; only the account can.
  2. Click your profile icon, then Account. On a phone this opens the same page.
  3. Under Subscription, click your plan, then Cancel subscription. Disney shows the date your access ends and, sometimes, an offer to switch to a cheaper plan instead.
  4. Confirm. The Account page immediately changes to show an end date, and a confirmation email follows.

Annual plans work the same way: cancelling stops the renewal at the end of the year you paid for. There is no refund for the months left, so if you are eight months into an annual plan, cancel now and keep using it; nothing changes until the anniversary.

Cancel Disney+ billed through a partner

Apple (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV)

Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Disney+ → Cancel Subscription. If Disney+ is not listed there, Apple does not bill you.

Google Play (Android, Google TV)

Play Store → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Disney+ → Cancel subscription. Or from a browser at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.

Amazon (Fire TV, Prime Video Channels)

Go to amazon.com → Account → Memberships & Subscriptions (or Prime Video Channels), find Disney+ and choose Cancel. Fire TV sign-ups almost always bill through Amazon even when the app looks like Disney's.

Roku

roku.com → sign in → Manage your subscriptions → Disney+ → Unsubscribe. You can also do it on the Roku device: highlight the channel, press the star button, choose Manage subscription.

Hulu-billed bundle

If you bought the Disney Bundle through Hulu, cancel at hulu.com/account under Your Subscription. Cancelling there ends Disney+ and ESPN+ too.

Phone, internet or TV provider

The Account page names the provider. Cancel in their app or by calling them, ask for the end date, and check the next bill. Provider bundles are the most common source of "I cancelled but I am still paying".

The Disney Bundle: one cancellation, three services

If your plan is a bundle with Hulu and ESPN+ (or with Max), cancelling it ends all of them on the same date. There is no way to keep one part of the bundle running on the bundle price. To keep only Disney+, cancel the bundle and re-subscribe to Disney+ alone from disneyplus.com, ideally on the day the bundle ends so you do not pay twice.

What happens after you cancel Disney+

Access runs to the end of the billing period. Cancel today, watch until the date on the confirmation.

Profiles, watchlists and progress are kept. Sign back in with the same email later and everything is where you left it. Disney does not publish a deletion deadline, but accounts we have seen restored after more than a year were intact.

Downloads stop working when the subscription ends.

No refunds. Disney+ does not refund partial periods, monthly or annual. Billing errors (charged after cancelling, charged twice) are the exception; see the Disney+ refund guide.

Cheaper than cancelling: the plan with ads is the lowest price and keeps everything else. Change it under Account → Subscription → Change plan; the new price applies at the next billing date.

Still being charged? Check these

  1. The charge is from Apple, Google, Amazon or Roku, not Disney. You cancelled on disneyplus.com but the partner still bills. Cancel in the partner's store; the sections above tell you where.
  2. The charge is dated before your end date. That is the final payment for the period you are still using.
  3. A second Disney+ account on another email, often created on a smart TV or by a family member. Search your inbox for "Disney+" receipts.
  4. The bundle is billed by Hulu. Cancelling Disney+ alone did nothing; cancel at hulu.com.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no Cancel button on my Disney+ account page?

Because a partner bills you: Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, Hulu or a phone provider. The Account page says which one. Cancel in that company's subscription settings; Disney cannot cancel a subscription it does not bill.

Can I cancel Disney+ from the app?

Only if Disney bills you directly: the app's Account page opens the same cancel flow as the website. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, use the device's subscription settings instead.

Does cancelling Disney+ take effect immediately?

No. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, monthly or annual. The end date is shown when you confirm.

Will I get a refund for the rest of my annual Disney+ plan?

No. Disney+ does not refund unused time on annual or monthly plans. Cancel whenever you decide and keep watching until the plan expires.

Do I lose my profiles and watchlist when I cancel?

No. They are kept with your account and are back as soon as you resubscribe with the same email.

If I cancel the Disney Bundle, do I lose Hulu and ESPN+ too?

Yes. The bundle is one subscription; cancelling it ends all included services on the same date. Resubscribe to the one you want on its own afterwards.
